Do you vend your products in schools?
We recognise that education authorities are responsible for children placed in their care by parents and guardians. Cadbury is seeking to help schools and parents by not vending confectionery or carbonated beverages in primary schools. We only sell products in secondary schools where we are requested to by the education authority. In addition, we work with schools to tailor vending to offer items like spring water and 100% fruit juices.
What do you think about banning vending in schools of certain products?
We recognise the risk of unsupervised vending in primary schools. In secondary schools, we believe that products which meet the nutritional guidelines set by the education or school authority should be available. Schools are for learning and we hope that this generation of children grows up to learn more about how to enjoy a variety of foods in moderation.
