6 GOOD REASONS TO CHEW GUM
V6 was invented by a Swedish pharmacist in the late 1960´s who had committed himself to creating and proving that a gum could be beneficial for the teeth and mouth. His developments resulted in a gum with the following 6 claims:
- No added sugar
- Helps give cleaner teeth
- Neutralizes bacteria-attacks on the teeth
- Supports the mouth’s own natural defence against attacks on the teeth
- Recommended after meals or when the mouth feels dry
- Fights bad breath and delivers a fresh mouth
Shortly after the birth of V6, the brand was purchased by FERTIN and launched in the Swedish pharmacies. 1978, V6 was acquired by the Danish company DANDY who saw the potential of a brand that could deliver both a nice taste and proven health benefits.
In the 1970’s and 80’s DANDY invested a lot behind V6 and the brand was launched in selected European markets such as Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Spain and Greece.
To support the early expansion of V6, DANDY launched a successful advertising campaign with the core message: “V6 is an effective supplement to your toothbrush” which later evolved to “Protection from morning to evening”.
V6 soon generated interest among those in oral care professions and became the favourite chewing gum for many dentists – so it’s no surprise that V6 has a long tradition of recommendation by various dental organisations.
Still today the brand is dedicated to dental care and consumers across Europe are using V6 to help keep their teeth healthy and in the best possible condition when their tooth brush is out of reach.
Always sugarfree, V6 products now also include a variety of active ingredients to enhance their oral care benefits - and come in a variety of formats, packaging and delicious flavours to give consumers the freedom socialize safe in the knowledge they are doing the very best they to keep their mouth fresh and clean and their teeth healthy.
Quick Facts
Did you know that the V in V6 was not a V from the very beginning?
It was originally a check mark to symbolize that the Swedish pharmacist who invented the original product had accomplished the intended product claim… people quickly interpreted the check mark symbol as a V - which was trademarked - and the brand called V6 was born.
