"There are always new challenges at Cadbury and each time I am proud of the dedication and commitment each person has made and the achievements we make as a business"

"I have been with Cadbury since 2005 and I can honestly say it has flown by!

"Being part of the Graduate programme at Cadbury has given me the unique opportunity to work across a diversity of projects, teams and departments. I have just entered into my final placement as a Process Engineer and Team Leader in our Bournville factory on a brand new chocolate plant!  We make all sizes of Cadbury Dairy Milk, Turkish and Caramel blocks/bars. I decided that a cross-functional move to manufacturing would allow me to not only develop and sharpen the skill set I have already attained but also let me experience a different part of the company and pick up entirely new skills. This is what I have found so appealing about this scheme - it is one that I have had the flexibility and support to build and make my own. Each step of the way I have had support and guidance from the Science and Technology (S&T) department and was also pleasantly surprised by just how open the business was to support me through to my role in manufacturing. It is early days in my manufacturing role but so far I am really enjoying it! My technical experience from product development and my commercial experience from Innovation Planning have already shown how I can add real value into this role.

"As mentioned my previous roles were in Product Development for just over a year and then S&T Innovation Planning for 10 months.  Within Product development we worked closely with the rest of the business to successfully innovate and launch new products. My role was to firstly collaborate with marketing to understand our markets and our consumers and then design great products that answer a consumer insight or need. Once the final product parameters were set I would then work closely with manufacturing to commission the new product onto the manufacturing line, ensuring each time that they deliver to our specifications.

"S&T Innovation Planning saw me move down to London to work even more closely with our marketing colleagues. The early planning of a project from planning how we get our insights through to planning how the S&T design teams will deliver prototypes against concepts can make or break a project. My role was to understand the ideas around a project and then pull together a Product Development Brief which the S&T teams deliver against.

"Now that I have reached my last placement I am already starting to think about my exit from the scheme. I am really looking forward to starting my first role off the scheme to really put into practice what I have learnt and show just what I am capable of achieving. It is an exciting time and I can honestly say I look forward to seeing where my career with Cadbury takes me! There are always new challenges at Cadbury and each time I am proud of the dedication and commitment each person has made and the achievements we make as a business."
